A partner meeting and a tour of the memorial park Vraca, Sarajevo

Partner meeting of regional platform Inappropriate Monuments was held in Sarajevo on 15th and 16th July 2015.

The meeting was attended by representatives of partner organizations of the Modern Gallery Ljubljana (SLO), the Group of Architects (SRB), SF:ius (CRO) and the Historical Museum (BIH), the host of this meeting.

Attendees of the meeting were given professional guided tour by curatorial intern Elma Hodžić. Attendees have been toured through the museum building and its storage, as well as the exhibition ‘Sarajevo Under Siege’ and the exhibition ‘70 Years – What Does the City Tell Us About the Past’.

They are present with professional guidance curatorial intern Elma Hodzic toured the building of museums and storage collections of works of art, and the exhibition “Sarajevo under Siege” and “70 years – what does the city of stories about the past.” Head of the art collection Svetlana Hadžirović gave a tour of the recently reconstructed storage facilities and presented the project ‘Restoration in Progress’ that museum carried out with the objective to restore 104 portraits of national heroes and heroines painted between 1948 and 1953 by famous Bosnian artists Ismet Mujezinović, Vojo Dimitrijević, Mario Mikulić, Nada Novaković, Ljubo Lah, Petar Tiješić, Ivo Šeremet, Rizah Štetić, Franjo Likar and others.

At the meeting, which was attended by the museum director Elma Hašimbegović, current and upcoming activities were discussed. At the end of the meeting, Balkan Arts and Culture Fund partnership agreement was signed.

After the meeting, with the guidance of Elma Hodzic, participants also visited the memorial park Vraca.
