TOPIC
Methodology of documentation and inventory of monuments – case study of WW2 memorials of former Yugoslavia
PROGRAM
International workshop on the methodology of forming a documentation dossier (fiche) with a tour of relevant locations in the vicinity of Niš. The participants will learn how to create a documentation dossier for the purpose of research of the WW2 (partisan) memorials, based upon the internationally acclaimed methodology of DOCOMOMO and Ljubljana process. The mentors will be architect Dubravka Sekulić and historian Nenad Lajbenšperger. The participants will visit the memorial in Bubanj, the former concentration camp Crveni krst, and memorial in Leskovac. The program is encouraging multidisciplinary international collaboration, dealing with the issues of implementation and monitoring of projects of heritage protection within the local, regional, and European framework.
The Workshop Inappropriate monuments will start on Thursday, September 24th, and last until September 27th 2015. The workdays are beginning at 10:00 AM lasting until 07:00 PM (including 1 hour lunch break). The program of the workshop consists of three working days and study trip on fourth day.
A detailed certificate will be provided by the organizer for the purpose of obtaining ECTS credits.

ELIGIBILITY
We are inviting international participants: professionals and students of (landscape) architecture, urban planning, technology, art, architectural & art conservation, history of art and architecture, history and related disciplines.
COSTS AND FEES
For the participants from region of former SFRY Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Slovenia, Montenegro and Macedonia:
Participants are NOT paying registration fee. The costs of tuition, working material, boarding (accommodation + breakfast and lunch) and travel costs (bus and train tickets or similar) within the region will be covered by the organizers.
For the residents of other countries:
The registration fee is 100 EUR and includes costs of tuition (workshops + lectures), working material, field trip and boarding (accommodation + breakfast and lunch). Fee does not include travel costs to/from Niš.
Given the hands-on character of the Workshop, it is our recommendation to bring your own laptop. Internet connection will be provided by the organizer. The installation of required (free) software will be communicated in a timely manner.
